Description
The project involves the demolition and construction of a building with evident seismic issues, maintaining the function of a nursery in the municipality of Villasanta, near Monza. The site located within a municipal study center represents an opportunity to rethink the connection between the school building and its nearby and distant context. The focus of the project is the enhancement of the relationship between the interior and exterior of the future building, particularly given by the transparency and the physical and visual dialogue between the two wooded areas within the lot. The motivation for this choice is given by the proximity to the Villa Reale park in Monza, not far away, where references to vernacular architecture are reinterpreted in the facade and section of the volumes of the new building with the aim of making it more energy and thermally efficient.
